The PS-4700 power supply unit is paired with the CDS-4700 and SP-DR1200 boards, which correspond to the professional audio composite amplifier and the speaker protection system respectively, both designed by Olas audio as well.
It consists of an unregulated DC power supply that allows the use of both ferromagnetic and toroid transformers. It uses a GBJ package bridge rectifier together with a set of snubber capacitors to minimize diode switching noise as well as reserve capacitors. It has protection fuses for each power rail and also has a power indicator LED. In addition, it includes a series of auxiliary pin header for connection to GND, VCC and VEE as well as a pin header for the AC reference signal used in the SP-DR1200 loudspeaker protection board.
It uses two pairs of terminal blocks at its output for convenient interconnection with two CDS-4700 boards to create a stereo version of the amplifier.
The PCB material used is FR-4, double sided, 1 oz. copper and the thickness of the board is 1.6 mm. Its approximate dimensions are: width = 7.2 cm, length = 10 cm and has a lead-free HASL type surface finish. It uses through hole technology for easier component assembly.
