Block diagram of the PS-4700 board
The PS-4700 power supply unit is designed to work with the CSS-4700 composite amplifier and the SP-DR1200 speaker protection system, both of which are also developed by Olas Audio for professional audio applications.
The PCB is designed to support an unregulated DC power supply compatible with both ferromagnetic and toroidal transformers. It includes footprints for a GBJ-package bridge rectifier with snubber capacitors to reduce diode switching noise, as well as reserve capacitors. Each power rail can be protected using fuse holders, and space is provided for a power-indicator LED. The board also offers auxiliary pin headers for GND, VCC, and VEE connections, along with a dedicated header for the AC reference signal required by the SP-DR1200 loudspeaker protection module.
Footprints are provided for two pairs of output terminal blocks, allowing the user to easily interconnect two CSS-4700 boards and configure a stereo amplifier.
The following are the main features of the PS-4700 power supply unit:
- Output voltage rectified and unregulated.
- Output DC voltage varies depending on the transformer used. Ideally it should be in the range of ±25V to ±35V max.
- Output constant current capability up to 10 Amps.
- The bridge rectifier footprint supports multiple snubber capacitors to reduce HF noise generation.
- The main supply rails include provisions for multiple HF filtering capacitors to limit noise propagation toward the output.
- High-quality double-sided plated-through-hole PCB (Lead-free HASL) with solder mask on both sides and full screen print.
- Ripple noise: less than -66 dB for both rails.
- PCB size: length=100mm, width=72 mm. It incorporates four M3 fixing holes.
The following diagrams illustrate the configurations in which you can integrate this board with other Olas Audio products.
